What Is Portfolio Backtesting?

Portfolio backtesting is a process of evaluating the performance of a portfolio over time by applying historical data. It allows investors to assess how their chosen portfolio would have performed had they used it in the past.

It provides an indication of how successful the portfolio could be in the future given similar conditions.
